Mote Spoon

English or possibly American silver mote spoon, c. 1740 with a spear end and the initials “VHW.”

This spoon served dual purposes: the perforated end of the spoon was used to remove stray tea leaves from your cup of tea while the spear was used to remove tea leaves that clogged the tea pot spout.
